FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Call or stop in to schedule a consultation. (210-530-8709)

We offer free consultations with all of our artists. Consultations are not always necessary, but they are an option if you feel you need to discuss your tattoo idea with the artist before committing to an appointment. We recommend consultations for larger pieces and cover-ups – small tattoos do not typically require a consultation.

We do take walk-ins, however we are a busy studio and most artists are booked at least 1 week in advance.

We require a cash deposit for all new tattoo appointments. This money will go towards the price of your tattoo. We require a $100 deposit for all tattoo appointments.

Boardwalk tattoos minimum is $100. Tattoo pricing varies greatly depending on the size and detail of a tattoo. Larger tattoos that will take several sittings to complete (i.e. back pieces, half and full sleeves, etc) are typically subject to an hourly rate starting at $150/hour. Most single sitting tattoos can be priced ahead of time by the artist giving the tattoo. Unfortunately we are unable to give accurate price quotes via email! Scheduling a complimentary consultation with the artist of your choice or just stopping by will give you a better idea!

At Boardwalk Tattoos we do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18, regardless of parental consent.

We will pierce minors 16 years of age or older, pending a consultation with the piercer AND with parental consent.

Please come prepared with the following forms of identification and documents:

A photo I.D. for both parent and child. Both I.D.s must be state or federally issued, i.e. driver’s license, passport, or military I.D.
Parties must have matching last names. In the event that the last names differ, proof of guardianship is required, such as a birth certificate or other legal guardianship papers.

During the piercing process the parent is required to be present for the set-up and aftercare presentation, but is welcome to leave if they do not wish to witness the piercing procedure.
